A Place Rooted in Seasons
This photo was taken during Rhubarb Days, a small-town tradition that has always meant more to me than a festival. It represents history, continuity, and the quiet way life keeps moving forward, whether we’re ready or not.
About Justina in the PNW
Life after the busy years looks different — quieter, slower, and full of questions.
You didn’t miss out because you were busy, unsure, or figuring things out.
You’re right where you need to be — and there’s more ahead.
For many of us, this season of life arrives quietly. The years that once felt full and fast begin to slow. The schedules ease. The house feels different. The roles we’ve carried for so long — caregiver, coordinator, problem-solver — don’t disappear, but they shift. And in that space, questions surface. Not urgent ones, but honest ones.
Who am I becoming now?
What do I want this next chapter to hold?
What parts of myself have been waiting patiently to be noticed again?
Justina in the PNW exists for this exact in-between place.
If you’re standing in a similar place—feeling capable but unsettled, grateful but curious, rooted yet ready—then you’re in the right spot.
A Space for the Quieter Questions
This is not a site about having everything figured out. It’s a place for reflection, faith, creativity, and becoming again — without pressure, performance, or perfection.
Here, the quieter moments matter. The pauses count. The seasons that don’t come with clear labels are honored instead of rushed past. This space is for women who have lived a lot of life already, who showed up for others, carried responsibility well, and are now listening more closely to what’s stirring beneath the surface.
Sometimes that looks like practical reflection — on home, wellness, routines, or daily rhythms. Other times it looks like sitting with a memory, a truth, or a question that’s been waiting for space. Both belong here.
Who I Am
I’m Justina, and I live in the Pacific Northwest — which probably explains why I notice seasons a little more than most people. The weather changes slowly here, and you feel it. I think that’s rubbed off on me. I tend to pay attention to when things shift, when something is ending, and when something quieter is starting.
I’m not writing from a place of having it all figured out. I don’t have a neat framework or a clear finish line. I’m writing from the middle — from lived experience, from paying attention, from trying to be honest about what this season actually feels like.
Like a lot of women at this stage of life, I didn’t plan for things to look exactly like this. Life just… happened. Kids grew up. Responsibilities stacked. Time moved fast. I stayed busy, did what needed to be done, and didn’t question much of it. And then one day I realized things were quieter — not in a bad way, just different. And instead of filling that space right away, I felt the need to actually sit in it.
This site came out of that moment. Out of noticing. Out of not wanting to rush past it or explain it away. It’s a place where I can say things out loud, even when they’re unfinished, and make sense of them as I go.
I believe faith can be steady without being rigid. I believe creativity doesn’t disappear just because life got full — it waits. And I don’t believe we need to reinvent ourselves to move forward. I think sometimes it’s more about coming back to what’s already there and paying attention to it again.
What You'll Find Here
Justina in the PNW is a collection of reflections, ideas, and creative explorations shaped by this season of life. It’s a place where I write about what comes after the busiest years — about faith that meets you where you actually are, creativity that shows up quietly, and the everyday rhythms of home, wellness, and life as it’s lived now. A lot of this space is about letting go of urgency and choosing intention instead, even when that choice feels unfamiliar.
Some posts are thoughtful and reflective. Others are more practical and grounded. All of them are written with care, honesty, and respect for the process — without rushing toward conclusions or pretending there’s a finish line.
This isn’t about reinventing yourself overnight. It’s about paying attention. About honoring what was without getting stuck there. And about trusting that moving forward doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
Why This Space Exists
This site exists to remind you that you didn’t fall behind.
If your life feels quieter now, it doesn’t mean it’s empty. If you’re unsure what comes next, it doesn’t mean you missed your moment. And if you’re still figuring things out, it doesn’t mean you’re late.
It means you’re listening.
Justina in the PNW is here to keep you company in that listening — a place to pause, reflect, and consider what’s ahead without rushing past where you are.
